Rosario Arostegui

As described by Deleuze and Guattari, Rhizomes are multiplicities, lines, strata and segmentations, vanishing lines and intensities, organs that grow indefinitely.

With the use of recycled material, particularly analogue film and negatives, the series explores rhizomatic forms and shadows reflecting diversity, openness, new paths, non-linear thinking.

In the series Labyrinths the artist reconfigures recycled analogue material, which was drastically replaced by digital technology, changing human’s way of communication, daily life, and community. She creates pieces which, by the use of light, reflect a shadow of hidden stories and secrets, just a glim of a private and personal world.

Based on analogue photograms and prints, the series presents the intimate and direct relation between Matter and Energy, the influence, change and effect they have on each other.

The pieces are presented in the form of the elements Water, Earth, Air and Fire.

Following the series Nets of Life, the series Cosmos presents 3D pieces out of prints to recreate part of an unknown and vastness region of Nature, a silent and dark place already touched by mankind.

On 2017, Rosario was invited to participate in the project Co-Habitet Universes. Le Corbusier´s architecture located in three continents, Europe - America and Asia, was intervened by the artist Alejandro Masseillot and photographed by three different Argentine artists.

The installation "Lazos de la Infancia - Childhood Bonds” was a tribute from the artist to the Argentine poet, singer and composer Maria Elena Walsh (MEW) at the exhibition “Efemerides II” in the Centro Cultural Borges in Buenos Aires for the International Women's Day in 2016.

"MEW's narrative and social sensibility, which have allowed her to gain Argentine national recognition, have been the motor behind her work. She successfully  uses daily elements to reflect her love for chilhood as well as her denunciation of poverty, injustice and rootlessness."

I used recycled LPs lacked in different colours and figures/medallons of papmache.
